Kindness, aspirational, determination and inspirational are the words that come to mind when thinking of the most influential woman in my life. One of my favourite singers, Taylor Swift, embodies these characteristics. Taylor Swift is an inspiration to me as she inspires her fans to accept who they are. She is a celebrity with a big heart. She started off as a small town girl who played her guitar for four hours until her fingers literally bled. Now, she is a big sensational country pop star. This “can do” spirit reflects her determination to pursue her dreams.

Looks wise, I find Taylor Swift beautiful with crystal Bambi-like eyes. She has white porcelain skin that seems to radiate a persistent glow. She has silky and wavy fair blonde hair that cascades down to her shoulders. Her trademark ruby lips complete her angelic look.

What made me look up to her was how she managed to overcome bullying when young. This is something I can identify with. She was not affected by the rejections from the record companies at the age of 11. I also admire how she managed to remain strong despite having few friends in school.

She has influenced me since I was 14. It happened two years ago when I was doing a research about her and happened to watch one of her music videos, “Mean.” Every single word from the song made me feel overwhelmed. The lyrics touched me as I could identify what it was like to be bullied and rejected by those who were mean to me. That spurred me to find out more about her life. I was touched by her strength and determination to overcome the odds and she became my inspiration.

When she became successful, Taylor Swift set up an education centre including workshops for teenagers and elderly to enrich their lives. She also donated $250,000 which was used to buy books and fund educational programs. She also donated 6,000 Scholastic books to the Reading Public Library in 2011 and donated 14,000 books to Nashville Public Library in Tennessee to encourage literacy. Most of the books are placed in circulation while the rest are gifts to the children from the low-income families. To me, she is like an angel from heaven, spreading her love and compassion towards the unfortunate. Her generosity reflects her inner and outer beauty.

Her songs have also inspired me to be more artistic. It is because of her song writing skills, I am starting to enjoy writing poetry. A few weeks ago, I wrote a poem called, “Loving him was red” which was inspired by one of her 2012 songs, “Red.” The song kept playing in my head and I could not get it out of my mind. It was as if the song was the puppet master, controlling me to craft up the poem.

Taylor Swift has influenced me greatly. She is the number one beauty among all the female celebrities I know. Her inner and outer beauty inspires me to be a better person, to be someone of good character and to grow artistically as well.
This my English graded assignment about a woman who is influential to me as World Women's Day was around the corner bak then. So, I decided to an essay Taylor Swift:) I enjoyed doing an essay about her as there were so many things to know more about her. Plus, the teacher mentioned it was an earnest essay. I am certain that many of the Swifties also look up to her:)

She is the type of person who does not care about what people said about her behind her back.
